The Power of Purposeful Connections: Moving from Procrastination to Processing

Recently, I had a moment that felt like a turning point. I found myself sharing my background- 25 plus years in nonprofit work, youth program development, and consulting expertise on grants and grant readiness. What started as a simple conversation led to a significant ask: sending two invoices, one for research and one for consulting. It was a wake-up call that pushed me out of procrastination and into action, fueling the very reason I'm writing this blog.

Evolving Through Elimination

As Erika Badu put it, "evolving includes elimination." I love how that resonates with my current internal conflicts. Right now, I'm navigating the complexities of balancing independent contracting with the traditional roles I've held in the past. Transitioning to a more autonomous role with "Seven Mountains 2.0" has brought its challenges, but it has also clarified my purpose. This shift has required me to return to foundational resources-like reaching out to trusted consultants, and experts in their fields. I'm re-investing in premium tools such as Canva, Wix, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Calendly. It's all a part of committing fully to this next phase.

In this work, I've realized the importance of setting boundaries around my value. While I've always been drawn to helping others, I no longer want someone else defining the worth of my contribution. There's a balance to be struck between generosity and sustainability...something I plan to explore more deeply in future posts.

The Joy of Being a Conduit

Nothing compares to the joy I feel when someone reaches out, asking specifically for my help. It reaffirms the value of purpose-driven work and the power of connection. As I continue refining my vision and re-aligning Seven Mountains, I am excited to share more insights, not only on what we can achieve together but on how we can elevate each other through collaboration.

As we embark on this journey together, I invite you to consider your own evolution. What are the tools, relationships, or perspectives you might need to revisit? And how can purposeful connections support your goals? I'm here to connect, to learn, and to grow with you.

Where have you felt the most challenged in evolving toward your purpose? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments, and I look forward to sharing more on this blog as we delve into the journey of service, connection, and transformation.
